Avoid Runway Incursions at Paraparaumu
Look out and broadcast before entering the runway strip, never create parallel operations, give landing aircraft right of way, and leave at least a runway length of spacing.

Runway incursions typically involve inadequate spacing between aircraft during take-off and landing, or aircraft entering the runway strip without making the appropriate radio calls.
Make sure you've completed a lookout and clearly broadcast your intentions before entering the runway strip. The boundaries of the runway strip are shown on the aerodrome chart by dashed lines. If you manoeuvre into this area, you are legally on the runway, and there's a risk of simultaneous parallel operations.
A parallel operation is one where two parallel runways are used at the same time. This is strictly prohibited at Paraparaumu. We must follow the right-of-way rules:
When preparing to line up, always assess spacing carefully. A good rule of thumb is to wait until the preceding aircraft is at least a full runway length away. If the aircraft ahead is using the grass runway, allow even more space, as it will turn crosswind through your upwind path shortly after take-off.
