Push and Pull Aircraft the Right Way
Push on the inner propeller near the hub (never the spinner), use both hands on the towbar, and always disconnect the towbar when it isn't in your hand.

There are procedures to follow when moving aircraft around the apron.
- Pushing: push on the inner section of the propeller, near the hub, where it is strongest. Don't push on the nose cone (spinner) – this can damage it, and you could hurt yourself if you slip.
- Pulling with the towbar: use both hands to minimise the risk of injury and damage if you drop the towbar.
- Always disconnect the towbar from the aircraft whenever it isn't in your hand. Leaving it attached can cause some very expensive damage!
If you're unsure of the correct technique, ask an instructor to show you.
