On sunny days, be aware of the harmful UV rays that shine through the windows into the cockpit.
- On longer cross-countries, make sunscreen a checklist item before you take off.
- Take water with you on warm, sunny cross-countries – it's a must.
- Follow the IMSAFE checklist, including drinking plenty of water on hot days.
When packing the aircraft away after your flight, put the sunshade up on the dash so the aircraft doesn't turn into a sauna for the next pilot.
